The project is dedicated to the collaborative digitisation of scores present in image form in heritage collections. The process is based on the initial production of musical notation by optical recognition (OMR). The information produced, which is faulty and/or incomplete, is then submitted to a community of users (crowdsourcing), followed by a process of reconciling the different versions obtained. The digital notation finally obtained is then used to enhance the value of the music collections, for example by synchronising the scrolling of images and an audio document. The project aims to remove the barriers that currently make such digitisation impossible by (1) guiding and controlling the OMR using a priori knowledge of the musical style, and (2) defining a crowdsourcing process specific to the multimodal nature of scores and their notation. The project will produce a final demonstrator at our partner-user site.
